Perak is not only a state known for its delectable food but apparently, it’s also a state full of veterinary clinics. In order for the vet clinics to operate, they are encouraged to be registered under the Department of Veterinary. We see this as a golden opportunity to convey our message where we can bring a number of vets together to the same place and talk to them. With this hope in mind, we approached the department and was welcomed with open arms to Perak.

The seminar was attended by 30 vets, with a majority of them from the governmental body and the Director of Perak’s Department of Veterinary himself, Dr. Ahmad Shafri bin Hassan. The highlight of our seminar is about getting things done with less time by incorporating the use of modern software into our everyday life. The awareness of vets towards the existence of these helpful software are still relatively low considering how they only know of old, expensive software from foreign countries instead of modern, affordable, local ones.

Not only that, they are not aware of existing problems and they do not have time to actively look for solutions either due to time constraints. Oftentimes, they have limited resources and they have to overlook the whole business by themselves with most things done manually. Through the seminar, we helped them to identify the problems they are oblivious of and showed them the ropes of running their business with modern software. The implementation of software in business helps to get things done faster and better. Customers no longer need to wait for the staffs to look for their pets’ medical records and so on.

Did you know that currently, there are 26 private vet clinics alone in the area that we visited? It is a competitive industry and customers will prefer one that is more professional and efficient. Implementing software in their business will allow them to achieve that and more. Great customer relationships will be established with decreased waiting time and detailed reporting. The vets now have a more efficient way to let their customers understand the consultation of their pets as well as recording relevant data. As for the business owners, they can free up their time a little to take a breather and minimise potential revenue loss. To simplify, more things can be done with lesser time.

Now, you might ask, why are they not implementing such software yet? The public usually has the perception of software being expensive and not user-friendly but that is not true. There are affordable and handy software out there but it is just not as acclaimed. We hope that through this seminar, we helped the people involved to have a better understanding of business software usage along with its abundant benefits. Personally, as an animal lover myself, I don’t mind waiting but it’s the pain of seeing my pet in pain and how helpless I can be that makes me dread and genuinely hope that more vet clinics will start utilising these software.
